Lori Gailey, MST, MGFE, EA

Mrs. Lori B. Gailey MST, MGFE, EA has been an IRS Enrolled Agent since 1997.  She has a Master of Science in Taxation from William Howard Taft University. She did her undergraduate work in accounting at Rick’s College, University of Utah, and Southern Utah University. She has been preparing tax returns for thirty-nine years ranging from very basic tax returns to complex business and entity returns. Her years of experience and tax preparation knowledge allow her to evaluate complex tax questions and their impact on each client’s special tax situation.

Beginning with her first high school accounting class and her college income tax classes to her position as personal income tax manager at a CPA firm, and owner of a tax practice, Lori has been excited about doing tax returns and representation.  She feels very lucky to be able to do something she loves.  Her experience, training and love of her career path translates into excellence in tax preparation, tax counseling, tax planning and IRS representation. 

Over the years, Lori has been the manager of a tax office which prepared over 3,000 personal, business, estate and trust tax returns.  She managed and helped train 10 to 15 preparers and staff each tax season.  Off season was spent overseeing client bookkeeping, preparation of payroll tax returns, preparation of sales tax returns, preparation of personal property tax returns, IRS representation, offers in compromise and year-end tax planning.  She has also been the Personal Income Tax Manager for a small CPA firm where duties included tax consultation, tax planning, tax return preparation, IRS representation along with assisting with investment account management. Prior to her tax preparation experience, during high school and college Lori worked in the banking industry assisting customers with everything from customer service, teller work, and bank statement preparation to loan documentation, preparation and loan file management.
