The year 2022 is closed finally let’s root for fresh start for 2023. What’s new at CSEA with 2023 implications?

This is Louis Avalos serving as the CSEA Board Director for the OC chapter.

The last board meeting was held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, via zoom room. The goal of the meeting was to for a committee update and if they needed assistance this was forum to ask. Here are some of the highlights of the meeting.

The Education committee finalized the June 19-22 for the Super Seminar to be held in Reno, Nevada or online your choice. The speakers and topics will be coming out in the next month so watch your email. The SEE class held in Northern CA was attended by 95 students and was deemed a success by all. The next class will begin on August 2.

Tax Advocacy is encouraging all chapters to promote Enrolled Agent Day on February 15. Great opportunities to let the public know WE are here and ready to help. Our challenge is how to do it Zoom, town hall meeting or a promotional piece in the local press?

Leadership Development committee (LDC) simple goal – keep the chapters alive next meeting s January 17 at 2 pm all are invited.

Finance and Budget was presented without any abnormal issues.

PIA has put out a client letter for all to use it is available on CSEA website and free to use. Excellent communication piece for your clients who need to know what is new for 2022. PIA will be traveling to Las Vegas for the Latino Tax Fest day to promote the CSEA brand. Volunteers are welcomed there is always a spot for you in the booth.

Membership engagement and promotion are looking to add a welcome kit to the website. This is very good idea for all chapter to have a welcome kit for new members. It is suggested the SEE class is a very good way to prospect for new members. Great place for welcome kit or a welcome Zoom meeting.

The CSEA is busy prompting the Enrolled Agents as well defending our right to prepare taxes. Until the next meeting in June happy tax season its time.
